Our Favourite Brookwater Golf and Country Club Reviews

Ever since the Brookwater Golf and Country Club first opened to the public in 2002 it has been perennially named Queensland’s no.1 golf course and one of the top 50 courses in Australia.

The Brookwater Golf and Country Club has a fantastic community of avid golf enthusiasts and social golfers alike, with people coming from all over Queensland and even the country to play our magnificent course and enjoy Brookwater’s tranquil surroundings.

Here are some of our favourite comments and reviews from fellow fans of Brookwater Golf and Country Club!

Tony Webeck has been a fan of Brookwater Golf and Country Club since its inception calling it one of the finest golf courses in the country and he puts it quite plainly – If you were a golfer in south-east Queensland ”you simply had to play it.”

But what Tony’s really interested in his latest review is the recent course renovations that were completed earlier this year and how it’s only made the course more remarkable. He points out the updated landscaping, renovated bunkers and greens and the thinning of trees which aids golfers’ perception of the fairway.

At Brookwater, we’re all about the love of the game and Tony seems to agree.

“Yes, there’s still a place for golf’s big boys, but more than ever Brookwater is tailoring the golf experience to those who simply play for the love of the game.”

Jimmy from Golf Australia says that Brookwater Golf and Country Club is a course that should appear on almost every Aussie golfer’s bucket list. He was particularly impressed with the recent renovations of the greens and the improved drainage saying it’s “already proved its worth during the huge downpours experienced across south-east Queensland in late March. The week after reopening, the course was lashed with heavy rain and storms. With almost half the course under water on the Thursday many other courses would have been hopeful of drying out in a week. Amazingly, Brookwater hosted a full field on the Saturday, a mere two days after significant flooding.”

He also remarks on the wealth of trees that fill the Brookwater Golf and Country Club, praising the improved lines of sight while retaining the ‘majesty of the course’.

Golf Getaway’s Andrew “Mirror” McCombe alongside Channel Ten’s Jono Williams take you through Brookwater Golf and Country club hole by hole to give you a real taste for the course. We learn what makes it one of the most spectacular in Australia and some great golfing tips from Brookwater’s resident teaching professional, John Collins. Australian Cricketing Legend and fast-bowler Ryan Harris also joins the boys for a few holes and talks about how he loves coming out to Brookwater in between training and the cricket season.

Perhaps Jono sums it up best when he talks about his thoughts on Brookwater Golf and Country Club at the end of his game, enjoying the scenery from the Brookwater Country Club.

“I like how Greg Norman has just designed such a wonderful golf course and carved it out of the natural environment. It’s just fantastic to play. Every hole is different to the next hole, which is a real challenge for golfers of all different levels. I love the general maintenance of the place as well – you can just see the lush greens and the lush fairways, it’s fantastic isn’t it? It’s good fun to play. And lastly – this clubhouse – you can’t go wrong, can you?”
