FREE FAMILY FUN DAY TO LAUNCH TENNIS COURTS

Brookwater will celebrate the opening of its brand new tennis courts in true Wimbledon-style with a celebrity tennis match and strawberries and cream.

On Sunday 1 August our favourite sporting, media and political identities Mayor Paul Pisasale, Scott Draper, Ian Healy, Vicky Wilson, Brendon Bossy and Peter Meares* will serve up a fun day for the local community as they battle it out on the new courts.

Former pro tennis player and golfer Scott Draper will set the pace as he takes part in the first friendly match of the day.

Brookwater general manager Chris Safonoff said the celebrity tennis match and the Brookwater markets are just some of the great activities planned for 1 August.

"We are excited to open Brookwater's latest premium sporting facilities, the four brand new competition-sized tennis courts," Mr Safonoff said.

"To celebrate the opening of the courts we have a great day planned for the community including games, giveaways and kids rides. There will be a free sausage sizzle, Sri Lankan cooking demonstration, a live performance by Springfield Fitness and Dance group and of course our regular Sunday markets.

"We invite everyone to come along and cheer on their favourite celebrity. There is also the chance for participants to show off their tennis skills with prizes awarded for fastest serve and hits closest to the target," he said.
