Brookwater celebrates Neighbour Day

March 27, 2012

More than 200 Brookwater residents turned out on Sunday 25 March to celebrateNational Neighbour Day with their community, making it Brookwater’s biggest Neighbour Day celebration yet.

There were 10 registered events that took place throughout the premier golf residential community, with residents asked to pack a picnic or a ‘plate-to-share’ and head down to join in the celebrations with their neighbours.

Brookwater Community Liaison Officer Kathleen Hansen said all 10 Neighbour Day events – which were entirely organised by Brookwater residents – were a huge success.

“The Brookwater Neighbour Day celebrations were a huge success with more than 200 residents turning out to celebrate everything that’s great about our community,” Ms Hansen said.

“We’ve had nothing but positive feedback from the whole community.

“The Neighbour Day celebrations only reinforced Brookwater’s community values, and provided an opportunity for families to meet – and build – lasting friendships,” she said.

Ms Hansen said, given the success of this year’s event, the Brookwater Neighbour Day events are sure to become a favourite on the Brookwater community social calendar.

“With the success of this year’s event, I have no doubt that similar Neighbour Day celebrations will continue in Brookwater for many years to come,” she said.

Neighbour Day is Australia’s annual celebration of community aimed at bringing people together from all over the community.
