Course updates
Winter is always an exciting time on the golf course as we start to see the results from the wet summer which produced good growing conditions in combination with the course capital works which commenced late last year.
Golfers are now able to see the results of the mulching and native revegetation program which will be completed by the end of May. This program will now be included in the annual maintenance schedule.
Winter 2008 Course Improvements
Some projects to be completed over this winter include:
- The concreting of gravel paths at the ladies tee on hole 1, greenside hole 2 and the drive on to holes 4 and 17
- Kerb replacement at the tees on holes 12, 17 and 18
- Improved access to tees (particularly the ladies tees)
- Irrigation extensions on hole 3 (right side of fairway) and other notorious dry spots around the course
- New forward tees holes 6, 10 and 11
- Desilting of the freshwater pond left side of hole 1
- Bunker renovations
On a final note, Brookwater Golf Club would like to welcome Doug McIntosh, a Brookwater Resident, to the maintenance team along with the introduction of four new trainees. Doug brings a wealth of experience to Brookwater and has proved valuable to the team.
A strong maintenance team along with additional maintenance funding, has enabled us to create the spectacular native landscape that is present today.
