The new $30 million Brookwater Village Shopping Centre opened its doors on Wednesday 6 February in an official event with Ipswich Planning and Development Chair Cr Paul Tully.

Located at the corner of Augusta Parkway and Tournament Drive, the Brookwater Village Shopping Centre includes a Woolworths supermarket, Mater Health Centre and eight specialty stores and is the first stage of the entire 13 hectare Brookwater Village precinct.

Brookwater Residential General Manager Terry Honan said the opening of the Brookwater Village Shopping Centre was an important milestone for the community.

“The opening of the Brookwater Village Shopping Centre is a huge milestone for us, providing residents with an even greater level of convenience,” Mr Honan said.

“Having such a diverse range of retail outlets and medical services just a few minutes down the road is a fantastic addition to the Brookwater community.

“We are particularly excited about our brand new Brookwater Residential sales office, which began welcoming visitors from February 6,” he said.

Ipswich Planning and Development Chair Cr Paul Tully officially opened Brookwater Village Shopping Centre on Wednesday, and said the new development was an exciting step for Ipswich’s eastern suburbs.

“This new development is easily accessible and will prove popular for local residents.”

Councillor David Morrison gave his congratulations to all involved in the opening of the precinct.

“I congratulate Woolworths, Mater Health and the owners of the eight specialty shops for having the vision and faith to invest in the Greater Springfield area,” Cr Morrison said.

“This corner will no doubt be a hive of activity. I also congratulate the architects and builders who have created a very iconic centre.”

The Mater Health Centre Brookwater will include Mater Pharmacy, Mater Pathology, Active Rehabilitation Physiotherapy, My FootDr podiatry, Brookwater Dental, Greater Springfield Orthodontics and Brookwater General Practice.

Brookwater Village Shopping Centre will also include The Coffee Club, Escape Travel, Sushi Ho Ho, Brookwater Realty, Brookwater Nails, a hair salon and a bakery.
