Brookwater Village on track for late 2012 opening
Construction of the $30 million Brookwater Retail Village on the corner of Augusta Parkway and Tournament Drive is well underway with the new community retail centre set to open in September 2012.
The new one-stop shop Brookwater Retail Village will house a Mater Health Centre, Woolworths and eight specialty stores.
Brookwater’s first ever resident and mother-of-three Samantha Buckley said the whole community is really excited about the opening of the Brookwater Retail Village in 2012.
“I was really happy to hear the news about the Brookwater Retail Village,” Mrs Buckley said. “The development will provide a lot of amenity and convenience for Brookwater residents,” she said.
“We have three children, so having the Mater Health Centre at our doorstep will be a huge advantage and will save us having to go into Springfield to see a doctor,” Mrs Buckley said.
Mater Health Services will partner with MyLife Medical Group to establish the area’s first integrated health service in one, purpose-built facility. The Mater Health Centre is set to include services such as a GP clinic, medical imaging, pharmacy, pathology, allied health services and visiting specialists.
Brookwater deputy managing director Raynuha Sinnathamby said the opening of the Brookwater Retail Village will see Brookwater become one of the best-serviced residential communities in south-east Queensland.
“We are thrilled to be able to work with Mater Health Services and Woolworths to bring such a diverse range of health services and retail options to the local community,” Ms Sinnathamby said.
Ms Sinnathamby said Brookwater residents are also set to benefit from a range of major developments happening in the area over the next few years, with the construction of the Brookwater Retail Village firmly positioning Brookwater as a one of south-east Queensland’s most highly-sought after areas.
“Residents already have access to a range of premier community facilities – including, of course, the award-winning Brookwater Golf and Country Club – with the opening of the Brookwater Retail Village in 2012 only contributing to the overall liveability of the area,” Ms Sinnathamby said.
The new development follows Woolworths’ initial presence in Mirvac's Orion Springfield centre, with the retail giant opening one of their first Masters Home Improvement centres in Springfield Central in October 2011.
