David Moore 'drifts' into Brookwater
June 15, 2011
David Moore, one of Brisbane's most successful restaurateurs, has made the move to Brookwater after successfully relocating his iconic Drift restaurant to the Brookwater Golf Club last month.
David, who had never even been to Brookwater before he opened Drift, says he immediately fell for the area's beautiful surrounds and peaceful community.
"Brookwater is just beautiful," Mr Moore said. "It's peaceful, it's tranquil, it's relaxing."
"I love to take the dogs for a walk around the area, taking in all the wildlife and tranquillity of it all," he said. "I never saw so much wildlife living in Toowong!"
David officially opened Drift Brookwater last month - four months after raging flood waters swallowed his iconic floating restaurant in the Brisbane floods. After losing nearly everything, David and his executive team relocated the restaurant to the pristine surrounds of Brookwater, where he now calls home.
"It might not have a river, but we have an equally beautiful and exciting atmosphere here at Brookwater," he said.
When David decided to make the move to the premier golf community to be closer to Drift, little did he know he would be in for a complete lifestyle change.
"Brookwater is very much a tight-knit community," David said. "Everyone knows everyone and it's really lovely to be a part of that," he said.
"When you work seven days a week, it's great to be just three minutes from home," Mr Moore said.
"We love it here at Brookwater," he said. "I have absolutely no plans on leaving anytime soon."
David says the overall Brookwater lifestyle has been one of the best things about the move. David's new home overlooks the 16th Green of the famous Greg Norman-designed golf course, and is in close proximity to a number of Brookwater's community facilities including the Drift Brookwater restaurant.
Deputy managing director Raynuha Sinnathamby said Brookwater's exclusive lifestyle is one that is simply unrivalled, with the award-winning golf club the centrepiece of the community.
"Brookwater residents have access to our premier community facilities - including the Greg Norman-designed golf course, tennis courts, and the award-winning clubhouse - which all contribute to the overall liveability of the area," she said.
"Brookwater's spectacular golf club is the centrepiece of the premier golfing community, with Drift offering residents a central place to meet, relax and unwind," Ms Sinnathamby said.
