Brookwater hosts exclusive Emirates Golf Challenge
There are still two chances left to enter the 2012 Emirates Golf Challenge – one of Queensland’s most highly-anticipated golf events to be held exclusively at Brookwater Golf & Country Club.
Brookwater Golf & Country Club hosted the first qualifying event for the Emirates Golf Challenge on Thursday 14 June, with the remaining qualifying events happening on Thursday 23 August and Thursday 15 November.
Both men and ladies will compete in teams of two, with the top 15 teams from each qualifying event going through to the final event to be held on Thursday 6 December.
A range of prizes will be on offer at each qualifying event, including two economy class tickets to New Zealand, Apple iPads and much more. All participants who enter the qualifying events are eligible to go into the draw to win the grand prize of two business-class tickets to Europe, to be announced at the final event.
The entry fee is $198 per team of two players, and is open to golfers with an official Golf Australia handicap.
Brookwater Golf & Country Club General Manager Warren Seeto said he was excited about the final two qualifying events, which was one the Club’s most highly-anticipated golf events of the year.
“The Emirates Golf Challenge was given exclusively to Brookwater Golf & Country Club, and is one of the year’s most highly-anticipated golfing events,” Mr Seeto said.
“The Emirates Golf Challenge gives people the opportunity to play in teams of two on Queensland’s number one course.
“You don’t have to be a single handicap player to place well in this event,” he said.
“Brookwater is naturally an intricate course, with the Emirates Golf Challenge set to be one of the most challenging competitions of its kind in Queensland,” Mr Seeto said.
Brookwater golf course was designed by two-time major winner Greg Norman, whose award-winning courses are famed for using the natural contours of the landscape while maintaining a strategic design. Brookwater golf course features a varied terrain encompassing two nine-hole loops and an overall distance of 6,505 metres.
Earlier this year Brookwater was announced as Queensland’s number one golf course in the Australian Golf Digest’s exclusive ranking of Australia’s top 100 courses, and was named Queensland’s number one public-access course by Golf Australia.
